Parent Post: Could Trump's Tariffs significantly harm globalism?

Not downplaying that the tariffs will cause a lot of economic pain, but I feel kinda annoyed that nations are only in this position in the first place because we depend too much much on foreign goods/labor/markets. Ideally, there's many reasons why we should prioritize self-reliance whenever possible. With 1 exception: I recognize nations don't have the same amount of natural resources/native crops/ etc.
