Are you familiar with "Astrotheology?" This is also related to the Gnostic Tradition. It is the theory that the stories in the Bible follow the "wheel in the sky" or the movements of the heavenly bodies and that the "truth" of the "old ways" or perhaps what we could call astrological knowledge is actually encoded within the Bible. For example, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are representative of seasons or the dominant astrological bodies during each. Here is a copy/pasted blurb from the Oxford astrologer: The four gospels – Luke, Mark, John, and Mathew – are commonly represented as a Bull, a Lion, an Eagle and a Man. These are the four fixed signs of the Zodiac – Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. Scorpio these days is usually depicted as a scorpion, but the eagle is also associated with that sign. There was a priest during the 1800s who realized this named Reverend Robert Taylor. He wrote a lecture series called The Devil's Pulpit. Anyway, that is just the tip of the iceberg.

I 100% recognize that there are a shitload of convenient similarities between esoteric studies, astrology and the Bible. Especially in the symbolism. but definitely not an expert.
