"'Still, it begs a question; if Abraham truly believed in God, and God had known it; He didn't need to confirm it to Abraham. God should have just gone on stopping him from sacrificing Isaac. Some have commented God did this to strengthen Abraham's faith in Him! Ok, for God to strengthen Abraham's faith in Him, means Abraham's faith had not been yet complete! So for God to obviously confirm his faith in Him to strengthen his faith means God lied!'' - Hyok Kim" **original claim rests on a false binary:** **Either Abraham already had complete faith, so the test was pointless, or Abraham did not have complete faith, so God “lied” by confirming it.** **That misses the biblical middle ground: faith can be real before it is fully tested, and testing can reveal, mature, and complete what was already real.**

''Either Abraham already had complete faith, so the test was pointless, or Abraham did not have complete faith, so God “lied” by confirming it. That misses the biblical middle ground: faith can be real before it is fully tested, and testing can reveal, mature, and complete what was already real.'' .......but God is supposed to be omniscient: He should have already known it, so no need for testing of any kind. His knowledge is supposed to be forever: He should/would have known long before Abraham was even born that his faith would be complete. ''...testing can reveal, mature, and complete what was already real.'' That is true only from Abraham's perspective; we are talking about from God's perspective.
