No, Canada does not put money into private health care clinics because private health care clinics are not legal in Canada. If it is being done under the radar then maybe, in which case it is illegal and should be stopped. Transparency of government spending is more important then worrying about this imo.

It also depends on what you consider health care. Canada has a public health care system, but there are some private options for dental and optometry care. The Canada Health Act (CHA) of 1984 and other regulations largely prohibit private health care for medically necessary services. The goal is to ensure equality of access to health care and to prevent the public sector from subsidizing private care.

I completely agree with Gov spending being transparent. Only way to make that happen is for the people stand together and push for it. The funding going to private care I was referring to was brought up about Ford: “Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s expansion of private surgical clinics to reduce hospital wait times. The concern is that while these clinics receive public funds, they may also charge extra fees, creating a two-tiered system where wealthier patients get faster access.”
