There is a somewhat well known quote comparing America to a golden calf and turning the country into a military arm and a welfare state to be controlled. I think that agenda extends to Western Europe/NATO Pretty good summary of NATO "achievements" in a long X post Even if an influential organization is created for the right reason and under responsible leadership, that is no guarantee it will not be taken over by rogue interests. By their fruits you will know them.

Kennedy can talk a good game on Iran and even refuse a standalone war authorization. He still votes with Republican leadership on the budgets that fund the Pentagon, and the wars those budgets make possible. The clips are made for the electorate.
