Looks like Greater Manchester Police went after a convenient target. Guy walking through Manchester with a baseball bat gets immediately stopped and tackled. Onlookers are shouting he’d just bought it. GMP later claimed the bat was actually purchased the week before but didn't provide evidence, no intent to use it as a weapon could be proven, so he was released with no further action. Under UK law a baseball bat isn’t banned, it only becomes an “offensive weapon” if they can show you intended to use it to cause injury. Buying one and carrying it home is normally fine. The GMP investigated themselves and found no misconduct:)
