I'd also add, gold is about as useful in rebuilding civilization as bitcoin would be without electricity. Gold serves little actual purpose and is quite useless to make tools. However I do agree investing in gold can be a good option during periods of market volatility. But imagine trying to barter with someone for food in the apocalypse and you have gold. The person with food has the more valuable commodity.
