Yes. If you look at battles in the past, its all about who got their military to the battle field first and setup in the best location usually. Many variables exist.

Studying battles is good. But until all your men follow orders or get orders in time or are able to follow orders nothing happens until then. Everything is "hopefully" this plan works. Supposedly mud in Iran stopped the special forces. Mud. The best plans of mice and men.
