After the implosion, the best way to protect one's assets and protect one's rights would be to become a warlord himself. One will be measured by how much military force one could project on demand, in real time, not by how much 'money' one has, or how many real estate one 'owns'. After the implosion of the federal government, majority of the state governments, and all the major city governments in majority of the states, money/real estate without military forece at one's own disposal will be meaningless terms.
