Even without turning on the TV I know exactly what you're talking about. The only good example of a white family with a dad that's not portrayed as an idiot is Last Man Standing. But you're right, that there is an obvious push to make gay or diverse families look like the only families that are happy and treat each other well, despite all actual evidence to the contrary. Gay couples have higher divorce rates, some as high as 75%.    
  
I'm sure you've heard the phrase "You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with." But relationships have largely been replaced by entertainment now. So people who are watching garbage TV like reality shows or listening to crap like Cardi B or Ice Spice they start to absorb those messages, and as long as people can claim that they're not as bad as some other person then society will keep lowering standards until it all looks like an episode of Jerry Springer like it does now. So there's definitely a cultural aspect that feeds into whether society will improve or be thrown off a cliff.  
  
Then there is whether laws are being upheld and to what extent. In Dubai, people don't steal because the punishment is losing your hand, and they actually follow through with that punishment. But if the laws can be ignored and people are allowed to steal up to $1000 worth of merchandise with no repercussions, then why not?  
  
Thomas Sowell goes more in depth about this in the Government Functions chapter of Basic Economics, but if you take away people's right to property, they have no incentive to work. It basically eliminates self-accountability because there is no incentive. Our government knows this and has done this intentionally so eventually the masses will demand government intervention to stop all the crime so they can expand their powers even further.  
  
All this to say, to some degree I see your point, but eliminating one race wouldn't solve the problem. It's a bottom-up issue that can only be solved by people abandoning the victim mentality and start taking some accountability for their own actions.

I think we're certainly in the same train of thought.  
  
If we simplify "we need dads" to "cultural degeneracy sucks" I think we're getting pretty close to having seats in the same car on that train.  
  
Love Thomas Sowell, but it's been WAY too long since I read his books and articles, I don't even recognize the title you mention, but I was blown away by his reasoning thirty-forty years ago.  
  
It's been hard, like having a pet put down, pulling away from Sowell's views on racial... similarity, but I end up referencing him practically every racial discussion I get into.  
  
If you don't love, and I mean really love the man, you need to be put on the sociopath watch list or something, and I guarantee that I'll cry when he dies even more than I do when I just realize that he's soon going to.  
  
If we get to vote on people to ACCURATELY model with AI for eternity, he's way up on my list!  
  
But I've grown world weary and savvy enough to recognize motivated reasoning, even from him. I don't fault him one iota for his opinion about how black people would be just like white people if they got to grow up the same. Unlike any woke liberal moron, he can and does provide justification for his claim, but reveals therein WHY woke liberal morons instinctively don't do that sort of thing.  
  
He unfailingly refers to blacks who chose to live in Germany following WW2, apparently not realizing these people are multiply filtered in order to be there.  
  
First, they qualified for military service and didn't qualify for prison. That's two filters already. Second, they were able to thrive in an ordered military environment, which is possibly two or three filters in addition to the first two. Finally, they actually preferred the prospect of living their lives, not where they grew up, but in basically the whitest, most ordered place they could even imagine living in.  
  
All that said, with the caveat that I don't believe I can truthfully say I know for sure, I think the odds are on my side.  
  
Regardless of the reasons why, whether genetics, upbringing, whatever, it seems clear that black people in America are a significant net negative on average. Regardless of how evenhanded and fair I wish to be with them, MOST of them simply hate everyone else and will actively seek to destroy whatever they see as "white" which can simply be defined as civilization if they think they can.
