"The exception doesn’t make the rule". In other words, a single outlier or unusual case doesn’t overturn a likely pattern or principle. It still applies that *generally* it seems to be a potential positive. 'China' doesn't debunk the studies nor erase the successful homogenous nations mentioned above. China *is* a good example though --- that any minor benefits offered by cultural homogeneity (likely the main culprit behind ethnic homogeneity's success imo) or anything else that helps societies succeed gets erased under an oppressive governing system. Hard to have a high trust society when there's low morale induced by a corrupt, authoritative government. Homogeneity is just one small piece of the puzzle for a 'potential' positive influence on a society's functioning. There are just as many, if not ***more*** important factors to a society being healthy or not. And I'd say suppression of dissent, a polluted surveillance state, and lives being *measured* in social credit scores would be significantly bigger factors contributing to the state of China right now... I can't think of *any* positive influence on society that can make up for such enslaving poisons.
