You're on the right track. Lobbying is the driving force for corruption in this country. Legal donations is just another word for bribery and that's the loophole. That's why politicians give the utmost priorities to donors while pretending to care about the average american. Presidents and politicians not receiving gifts are actually a thing in most countries. Although this new law should also be imposed on bug businesses too. So what we can do is implement a new legal framework that incriminates any megacorporation or affilated entities found guilty of donating money to politicians. Make it a federal offense for corporations to meddle in the administration of our country altogether to prevent conflict of interest. Abolish corporate bailouts. Assign a trusted specialized handpicked taskforce to conduct corporate espionage to keep big money interests and other industries from misbehaving. Impose heavy regulations and penalties on businesses that carry out malpractices and price overgouging. The FTC only deals with the small fries but they should be heavily involved in taking on bigger companies. Abolish campaign fund raisers. Candidates should be a given a prudent sum of money equally so that it's fair and that they're tested solely by their delivery and not marketing gimmicks. A limited sum also mitigates misappropriation of funds. The strategy here is to eliminate or at the very least mitigate corruption in our government while also improving price regulations in the favour of the people. I like how you mentioned our founding fathers and like you I also have not forgotten them. This is certainly not what they envisioned. Sadly, we're going to end up like Rome and it's probably going to take an economic collapse for everyone to wake up from their brainwashing and blind patriotism. The only way to fix this malignant festering corruption is through a revolution and I don't mind a hard one.
