Brother. There are people at different stages in the process of their journey. Think of a man who has the experience of , I can't believe I'm saying, "mongols or asians" or whatever, BUT inside the USA. That is an entirely different experience than being in someone else's nation, where they are nationalist, and they are not in your country essentially pawns of an attempt to unseat your people. I have lived abroad and really enjoyed the community of some of those people - but those that are in the US, what you might call the "diaspora" variety of those people - totally different and generally annoying.
