1: Existential crisis, observing Asians having their own communities and living natural lives while you are some lost wanderer usually congregating with other lost wanders, a strange display for the locals. Years later to come to one conclusion. No matter how well you speak the language, you will never be Asian. Former expat.

I am the whitest, blue eyed german looking (American) you have ever seen. It wins me much more favor in most places than many. I do realize and undestand this. There is very much growing anti amercan sentiment worldwide now though. GRINGO GO HOME - is a big deal in Mexico at the moment. I have never had one issue in 30 years of travel and living abroad though.
