Dick, VALIS Engels elevated black and white thinking to the point of an athiest religion that was given economic and political breath by Marx. This is the quickest way to explain the mental illness that has infected the masses along with one word you may or may not have heard of: Perennialism. This is basically the idea that ideas are ancient, and that memetics have been fighting for centuries and millennia. This is where Peterson gets it right- ideas have people and it is very rare that a person possesses an idea. The idea that possessed Engels long ago has made generations sick, and willing to kill the innocent. The proof I have for this is the gallons of blood in the soil of every country that has turned communist.
