Most people have disdain and contempt "for your fellow man". Look at how tribal people are. You think if a "regular" was given their power they wouldn't abuse it? Its shown time and time again, when people get power they abuse it, in a variety of ways. Corruption runs in humans.

"Corruption runs in humans." Although true on the whole, I think the more someone is centered or anchored in their character, the less they can be swayed or pulled in a particular direction.
