Do you blame the text or the reader of the text? 'Free the slaves' can be regarded or disregarded by the people. You are aware that not everyone obeys the law (God-made and Man-made)?

I blame the man that wrote the lies stating that they were divinely inspired. The point is, people throughout history has used these "holy books" to justify some of the most insidious acts. And it is still being done to this day (Israel and Gaza) (Syrian civil war)

Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not murder. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not bear false witness etc. Which of this do you want to 'Hear and Disobey'?
