There were several ways African slaves could obtain their freedom. They could save their shekels to outright buy their freedom, fighting during both the Revolutionary & civil wars, and more. This is america- we don't do collective punishment. We give credence for actions directly made to individuals whether that is good or bad. No one alive today should be held accountable for the actions of their ancestors. No one alive today should be thanked for the contributions of another. You can rightfully substitute "European" with "Jews". Heck, Christopher Columbus & his crew were Jews from Italy/Spain. In St. Augustine, we still have the the fort and slave auction platform to remind us of the savage history. The Separatists who fled to the Dutch Republic because of religious persecution became the Pilgrims (Quakers & Puritans who thought they had a covenant similar to the Jewish) who in used the Mayflower in search of a New World economic relief due to tyranny and oppressive taxation from King George III.

I continued this conversation in good faith that you would be able to collect your emotions when discussing facts. Get out of the victim mindset because no one is coming to save you.

Not a victim mindset. Just stating facts. My emotions are in order, your cognitive dissonance is just greater than your reading comprehension.
