My thoughts. Agree and disagree, in that religion is a man made construct and as such is inevitably flawed, because man himself is inherently flawed. However, man in true relationship with God is a different story. That relationship through faith and by the Spirit is not hampered by denominational labels, is not dead but very much alive and is a day by day, minute by minute exchange with God. Scripture and its truth comes alive in a lived life by it and proves itself beneficial to the hearer and doer of it and to other lives touched by it.

If the scripture is alive and well today, then the god of those scriptures is not benevolent what so ever. Those scriptures have justified cruel actions over and over again. I get having a connection to a higher source, but subscribing to anything MAN wrote on paper for my existence is a no go.

Genuinely curious, have you studied Scripture in order to make your informed decision to dismiss all religion? Often the hubris of man interferes with understanding the Word of God.

I study the Abrahamic faiths everyday of my life. Then I studied the religion of Abraham’s father (because the Bible was not written in a vacuum) ect. I am a southern black male that grew up in the church. I was groomed to be a preacher. So yes, I have studied the scripture, and the history around them.
