There is a lot packed into this post, and I hope I grasp most of it. I’ll keep to two things. My talks with Cow keep sliding back to the Bible and God. He does not read what he argues about or most of my answers, so not much happens there in good faith. It is the same broken record. I have tried to pay him the compliment of purposefully reducing interesting thoughts to "low IQ" takes, but maybe it is something he is attempting to work out or prove from growing up in a “Christian” home. I wish he would make peace with that and talk about something that is actually on his mind rather than lashing out at everyone else. On the actual question: I do not think people are controlled. I believe in free will. God allows life, time, and experience to get our attention. Since Eden, we also live with what pulls the other way. Biblically, that is not obscure: there is truth and the lie, and each of us has to choose and/or experience. Control would cancel worship, but influence does not. No one escapes this destiny by being clever. The way out named in the text is faith. So no, I do not believe supernatural beings control people’s actions in the puppet sense. Yes, I believe they solicit, deceive, and contend.
