I MIG professionally now but was a master mechanic and would use my oxyrig to practice pushing metal then using coat hangers as filler. Torch welding is very slow but it allows for a lot more control since you aren't striking an arc its easier to pull back and manipulate your puddle. I'm glad you picked up what I was putting down lol

I’ve seen it in the shop, it seems kinda like brazing, I just never got to do much of it as I was getting certified for Aerospace stuff, so mostly aluminum, and primarily T.I.G. (Which is probably where I get my arrogance from😆) too bad I’m poor and haven’t been able to fuse metal for a while now, don’t have my own equipment, or I’d be welding everyday. I absolutely love it! I’ll get back at it eventually.

Yeah you're right im pretty sure its a brazing/welding tip technically and technique is samilar. But if you ever feel like addressing that arrogance, look up them Pakistanis stick welding with car batteries in sandals but the finished product is immaculate and some videos will speed up instead of time lapse so you can see they lay every bead and grind down the imperfections. I agree being poor makes things difficult but I try to stay self aware and acknowledge that I'm making excuses. If it's for you to do you will and I hope when you do it again you take the time to appreciate what your labor creates. But until then I'm sure you can apply your own skills into whatever pursuit is most relevant and effective for what you would like to achieve.

I’ve definitely watched probably the same exact video you mentioned. And yeah, trust me, as someone who holds accountability in high regards, I feel like shit for being away from it for so long and basically making excuses on why I’m not under a hood right now. Appreciate you Pops, if you’re ever in SoCal and need a hand, give me a holler! I’d be happy to help! I work on cars myself, don’t know what type of mechanic you were, but it’s all the same to me🫡
