That’s where I’d start. The fact that they’re a community actually means they have shared values (even if it boiled down to something as simple as mutual survival) and identity. In the grit sitting around singing kumbaya and validating feelings with flowers in your hair isn’t as important as being able to mobilize towards shared goals.
