I'm with the content creator's thoughts on this one that the manner of Asimov's thinking in this short story is overly optimistic, but in a perversely oversimplified sense for the same reasons the narrator also ultimately list. It is a clever and cute retelling of parts of biblical Genesis. Ultimately, it is the American in me that rejects the cult-like faith that singularity is any kind of solution to what ails the human condition, and it is the Pagan in me that already sees solutions in community building that are obfuscated by contemporary monotheist.

So, the Holy Bible isn't optimistic? Its one story of his that he doesn't force upon anyone other than something to think about. I don't think he says singularity is the solution, this is one future outcome that he wrote about along with 300 or so other stories.

I was responding to you - not Asimov. In your response your suggesting that singularity is "what we'll get to at somepoint." I'm from Eastern pluralistic faith background - the Bible is just one book of stories among literal thousands of others. It can be whatever you make of it.
