Personally if someone is posting garbage as a response just ignore it. Let’s say part of the their comment is something worth discussing and other goes into some garbage, just ignore that part. Unfortunately people are upset and need someone or something to blame. It doesn’t matter if the topic is about war or why ginger cats (tabby cats) are such dicks. Someone will try to side track with their garbage to drag everyone else down. There isn’t anyway around this, we want an open platform, it’s going to happen it’s up to us to move beyond.

Well there is a way, instead of this dumbass ‘mute post’ button @matt @dangun we could have a ‘mute user’ button. This allows people to keep their free speech AND simultaneously ignore the clowns.

Honestly I see stuff I don’t like I just ignore it. They will self moderate once they don’t get engagement. Just skip past their comments and move onto the next one. They will see people don’t care and eventually stop. Engaging, trying to convince, etc is what feeds it because they know they are getting on people’s nerves. We have to allow for them to say what they want, regales if we like it or not. If not it gets worse because they go into their own eco chamber. let the clowns put on their show, but let it be a show for themselves.
