On 5. I probably should have clarified slightly. In particular when I said "Full Spectrum Dominance" "would likely require significant increasing in spending, perhaps a doubling of the defense budget". I do not personally advocate for doubling the defense budget. That is not necessary to keep America 'safe'. Between nuclear weapons, and the armed forces that the country has already invested in, securing North America would be relatively easy, even if they cut the budget 50% like Trump verbally suggested a few weeks ago. Though defending the Dollar and the core of the Empire... would be difficult. I think it is clear that the very large amount of money being spent currently is insufficient for American military supremacy, and is already unaffordable. And I think this points to the US being on a Foreign Policy trajectory that is unsustainable even in the near term. So either policies will need to change drastically or spending will. Obviously it should be policy that changes (and spending, but downwards/less). But it is equally obvious that the military industrial complex financial beneficiaries + allies will want to throw more money at it.
