It used to be just obvious in the heavy metal/death metal scene now its everywhere in pop culture, hip hop and rap. It's so mainstream, the old metal heads look corny... Taylor swift, Katie Perry etc... they want to appeal to a much younget and broader audience...remember that astroworld concert that started a 'stampede' and killed a 9 year old boy? The people were saying some interesting things about what they felt and how it seemed like a ritual they were participating in... granted, that's also when they kicked on the 5g towers and knocked out everyone's cell phone usage during g the concert....

Where there were some metal heads that were all in to this ritualistic scene, they never received the mass display or size that we see with the likes of Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. I think the powers that be found the rituals are more appealing with the sex sells aspect. Dudes raising devil horns and wearing leather isn't as appealing.
