Over three days, 24 internet radio DJs hosted two-hour live shows celebrating 1980s music, culture, and conversation, drawing between 20 and 40 listeners per broadcast. In total, the event generated an estimated 960 to 1,920 live listening hours — a strong showing for an independent online radio gathering. More than just a nostalgia event, it reflected the spirit behind “New Wave Order: The Convoy Was Already Forming” — people organically coming together around shared interests, independent media, and authentic connection outside mainstream platforms. Listeners didn’t just tune in; they participated, chatted, shared memories, and helped recreate the communal feeling that once defined radio culture. It was a successful event, a great time, and a reminder that independent digital communities are still very much alive.
