We are here to hash things out in the open when time and willingness allow. I remember @babyvaso taking positions that clashed with the way my mind perceived reality. I still can’t easily tell whether it came from dishonesty, wishful thinking, infantilization, in-group loyalty, or religious preference. Living in the West makes me feel coddled by safety and a still understandable cultural value system. But if I ever found myself a victim of the things I read or watch online, it would obviously change me. So does it ultimately come down to the difference between accepting mainstream media versus independent media and the crime statistics?

When I see something happening in America, I do not often, or if ever in recent year, look for the origin of the event I'm witnessing rather, I search the internet for a similar event occurring elsewhere in the world. I've recently looked into Burma's history dealing with Japan, I've looked into Kazakhstan and their presidents war on American branded clothing lines to the boom in "My Life in Rural China" phenomena on youtube. All I care about is ideological consistency. If there is a topic you had in mind that we clashed with I'd be happy to address it.

My assessment came out harsher than I intended. I don’t mind clashes and only care about communicating a factual and accurate view. We had different opinions, and suggesting dishonesty goes further than I would want to judge. If something new comes up I’ll address it as I see it, but there’s no need to keep grinding over past takes.
