The next sequel is already afoot. Fox is reporting some chic in Illinois killed her 2 year old, then cut herself (non life threatening). As I have said in other places, I did not follow the Clancy case until a little today. We need to get rid of HIPAA in order to protect kids, imho. Just bc you biologically gave birth does not mean you deserve to be a parent. The mental health sympathies in cases like this should NOT be with the mother, they should be with the INNOCENT children. I am not saying disconnect the child with the parent. I am saying develop a network of sponsors to help provide custodial care for children at risk, and allow the affected mother supervised visitation until the child is old enough to fight back, dial 9-1-1, etc. This can be accomplished within an extended family structure or if there is none, that is when Community organized networks can be formed. There should be a registry for this. Not to demonize the woman, but to help protect the child.

Community organized, volunteers. The volunteers must be willing to certify pediatric basic life support, pass a background check, show 3 references of character and experience, etc. Tons of people like me (parents and now grandparent) would volunteer.

Any volunteer or charitable solutions would be a net positive. I’m just against concentrating more power instead of resources which can easily backfire. CPS is an example of what happens to a political government department and what kind of employees it attracts or harbors. This woman had resources and the tragedy still happened. What we will learn from the sequel is divisive polarization and, social media attention/clout seeking. I would rather have understood what that cocktail of drugs does to a mind. But defense had its job and so did the special interests.
