I wonder if she ever felt the same way. I wonder if she ever felt that his words, gestures, and promises were ever supported by action. I wonder if her “indifference” was patience. I wonder if the boy ever communicated clearly his desires and feelings. It’s a terrible thing to feel so lonely especially when you’re with another person who is supposed to love you. I’ve been there. I wonder if the boy left without warning, extinguishing the life they had together, as a punishment. Sounds like spite and vengeance. Not love.
