Art is subjective, just cause you make art doesn't mean you shouldn't be a "starving artist". We as humans can't go around eating art or using it as clothes. A good balance is always best... Architects have made some ugly buildings in history that aren't functional just like an artist makes an ugly painting. People who build houses build them horribly sometimes. Do you think someone framing a house is creating something or is that just a job?

I think that when men built houses 50 years ago, they took pride in their craftsmanship; it was an art for them. They wanted to make something with their time, blood, sweat, and tears. They got to look at the brick, stone, whatever and say to the world, “I did that. Some family is going to enjoy my labor. That family is going to make memories in the same place/space that I created and so, I take part in their creation too.” At least, that’s my fantasy, my hope. Now, no one cares about what they make. There’s no spiritual and emotional impartation, no faith that their contribution to other people lives on.

Yeah so many people today make "art", we are spoiled, the decadence of humanity is a pendulum swing.
