Historians, geneticists, and theologians all debate continuity, conversion, exile, return, intermarriage, and identity, and none of that justifies hatred of people living today. Even if you are right about every historical or genetic claim made, it would still not make collective blame moral. You said something important yourself: You’re against hating people for an immutable characteristic and against collective punishment. I agree with that. Where we part ways is this idea: “All of our collective woes seem to track back to the same group.” That sentence is the danger. That’s not analysis. It's scapegoating logic. That’s the exact logic every society uses right before it commits moral crimes and then tells itself it was “justified.” Human nature: Seeking Power, Corruption, Greed, Fear, Lies, etc. Those exist in every nation, every class, every religion, every ethnicity. When people stop saying: “What policies failed?” “What leaders lied?” “What systems broke?” “What incentives corrupted?” …and start saying “It’s that group” …they stop thinking and start being led. You don’t need to like any religion. You don’t need to support any government. You don’t need to agree with any theology. But the moment suffering gets explained as the fault of a people instead of actions of certain individuals, you become the the unjust. It reminds me of Niche talking about becoming the monster you hate. Anyway, thanks for your comment.
