''Thank you very much. I am sure many others will appreciate your sharing as well.'' I can read and listen to Korean. (I don't know how well Matt can.) So I watch ROK military channels (credible ones, instead of cheap shock value click baiters), I google in Korean so I can gather far more sources than those who can google in English only. ROK is at the forefront of technology in many areas, already not only matching U.S. but surpassing. Soon enough Korean will become a required language for any serious engineering majors in U.S. More troubling news is that more and more of these serious ROK military channels are becoming less and less Pro-U.S. They are not anti-U.S. yet, but becoming increasing less Pro-U.S. less trust on U.S. at the grand strategic level. Some are even beginning to see the day when ROK becomes a strategic ally of both Russia and Iran! About the only reason why they are not turning anti-U.S. is because they are very anti-China, not just PRC, but even ROC/Taiwan. ''I have also scratched the surface on the US inability to come up with a hypersonic missile.'' ROK already has hypersonic smart stealth cruise missile in inventory. It is the most advanced hypersonic cruise missile in the world. https://aviationweek.com/defense/missile-defense-weapons/south-korea-unveils-hypersonic-cruise-missile-prototype-concept It's the first and only hypersonic cruise missile that is both stealth (actually ultra stealth, stealth against not just radar, but also IR trackers), and smart, (ultra smart, it can not only navigate on its own, using both GPS, and inertial navigation, but also can increase and decrease, the speed with great flexibility, by turning off and on the engine on demand, in real time), even if the enemy can somehow track its trajectory, they cannot see at which part of the trajectory it's going to be. It's kinda like Russian Zircon missile, but it can do things Zircon cannot do. Like turning off the engine in midflight, in real time, on demand, so that not only the enemy will have harder time tracking it, but also increases the total effective range of the missile up to 4 times as long as Zircon. It can do so due to the recent exclusive breakthrough in scramjet technology by ROK. Scramjets are fast, but they cannot turn off and on once ignited. But ROK succeeded in building such scramjet. Also, it will come with ROK stealth technology against both radar and IR seekers. Hypersonic cruise missiles are already kind of stealth at frontal portion especially due to plasma effect once it hits ultra highspeed, against most radars, but only at the ultra high speed before the terminal phase. The enemy can still track hypersonic cruise missile before the terminal phase. And ultra advanced anti-Stealth radar can still track during the terminal phase as well. Hycore cannot be tracked even during normal speed runs due to its coating. So when in danger of being tracked and/or to increase the range, it can turn off the engine, and later turn on the engine again! So Hycore missile can turn off the engine to reach just below mach, before entering the terminal phase. Hycore will become total stealth against, radar, IR seekers, and naked eye before hitting the enemy. The first and only kind in the world! I found this by digging through all those Korean documents in public domain. '' I don't think that they have even been able to get a test off. I don't mean a successful one I mean any. I read that they aborted a couple tests last year. One problem they have is coming up with a coating.'' Problem with U.S. R&D is not enough coordination from the government, due to excessive competition between the providers, and not enough modular R&D. Also, MIC make more money by making the final product as unreliable as possible, while promising the moon in performance. By making things as unreliable as possible, while hiding behind the inflated performance, means, they get to make more money by testing, and complicated maintenance. If your car breaks down often, your mechanic will be making a fortune, and you have no other options. That's similar to IBM's strategy in 60s, by making the computer as unreliable as possible, to generate additional revenue, the maintenance fees, the bread and butter for IBM during those days.

Exactly, the virtue of selfishness per Ayn Rand! ROK is the total polar opposite of U.S. in this regard: Nothing is to be above, outside the optimal totalitarian national interest. OTNI is ROK's God/Allah.
