Having fun once a while is not that bad. However, U.S. military is not a patriotic citizen militia. It's a mercenary unit, that's not even very effective, quality of the soldiers wise. In terms the quality of soldiers, U.S. is not a superpower; it's not even ready for total, conventional war, whether offensive or defensive. The only true deterrent U.S. has is the high-tech wonder weapons, and nukes. The problem is other countries are catching up; some have already surpassed U.S. and U.S. is not doing anything to reverse the gap. The only remaining deterrent is nukes. However, when the sensors advance further, and with hypersonic cruise missiles, especially stealth, smart cruise missiles, those nukes can be located, and neutralized either in their silos, or deep beneath the waves. There's nothing in U.S. inventory that can defeat hypersonic cruise missiles, certainly not hypersonic smart, stealth cruise missiles. Those ICBMs in the silo can be detonated; it would dislocate the transportation infrastructure, and contaminate much of U.S. U.S. would become unlivable if the Federal government cannot take care of the aftermath, it will mean the collapse of the Federal government, and many of the state government as well. Yet, people care more about super bowl than fixing the issue. There will be mass famine, break down of law and order. Millions will perish. No worries about invasion, though. Who would want to invade unlivable land? ICBMs in the silos, should be decommissioned asap. Only SLBMs should remain, and U.S. should worry more about stealth technology than fancy toys from MIC. https://www.kriss.re.kr/gallery.es?mid=a20205110300&bid=0023&b_list=10&act=view&list_no=4060&nPage=3&vlist_no_npage=6&keyField=&orderby= I kid you not when I say ROK is at least 5 to 10 years ahead of U.S. in stealth technology. U.S. has nothing like this, not even close. U.S. submarines still rely on fancy rubber tiles for stealth. ROKN proved its stealth during RIMPAC; U.S. could not locate ROK subs.
