You're not God. This is the problem with the USA, we think we have to police and control what the rest of the world does. If the people over there want a regime change, then let them fight for it. It is in no way our job or duty to tell the rest of the world how to live because it is not up to our standards.

I see your point and I'm 95% on the side of America being anti-interventionist in foreign policy (we fuck up more than we ever fix). And yet, if I personally were an individual in position of power to help (~~good thing I'm not lol~~), it'd be incredibly hard for me to stand by and do nothing while groups of people are harmed/killed. As seen throughout history, often the majority will overwhelm and effectively purge minorities. If I'm to just accept that as a fact of life when others do it; feels somewhat hypocritical to only care/fight against it where I happen to live you know? Idk, this convo made me realize I'm more torn about this topic than I realized so I'm just gonna leave it there.

Again, that's why I said we are not God. How do we know who the good guy is with certainty? Like you said, how do we know we are not doing more harm than good? Remember when we covertly got rid of a certain place's leader recently? because we thought he was a threat to democracy and a terrorist. Then he was replaced by a leader who is currently beheading christians. For example, what's your take on Gaza? Which side would you side with? Would you help Israel take over Gaza? or would you fight for the people of Gaza against Israel? One side is obviously more evil than the other(not to some people sadly) but either way, innocent civilians will get hurt. This issue would have been solved a long time ago if we had never stepped in to "help".
