Churches are controlled by priests who are human. Humans tend to be corrupted or lust for power and wealth. Jesus did not promote the idea of a church for the benefit of a person, in my opinion at least.

Maybe I misunderstand what you mean, I'm implying we need closed circles of young men who work together on something greater than themselves, I have an example in mind but I prefer to not name it here, you could probably guess what I'm referring to if I just say this source of media leads to debauchery, even priests struggle with it. Funding by philanthropic figures who via proxy will guide them with wisdom, I understand if they have too much to lose but I don't believe they are all corrupt, not completely at least. There is still good in people, the longer this takes the harder it will be. Timing is everything.

I just meant that much of Christianity is corrupted for individual satisfaction and narcissism. Where as true Christianity would as you say be justly philanthropic, which is a rarity to see these days.
