There's been some math done on the original sun based calendar the Essenes used (which is what the jews always should have been using but turned to lunar at some point), and the century part might not be far off if that's correct. I forget the author I read, Josh Peck? maybe, but his math had things happening at the latest like 2090, he also made some points that there were more priest deaths in the second temple period because of the lunar calendar (doing the wrong ritual on the wrong day, I guess kinda like touching the ark).

Essens were interesting, and played an important role in history, because of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
