I'm not a reader of the book... but I knew that quote had to be being interpreted wrong..... rendering unto Caesar, doesn't jive with the message of Christ in a more general sense. Like why would he want people to subject themselves to a worldly authority... just doesn't make sense.. Thank you. 🙏

Verse 15 specifically states the Pharisees are trying to “entangle” Jesus. They are trying to trick Him and incriminate Him. After He drops His wisdom, the Pharisees go away in awe of how He drops wisdom on them of voluntarism.
