Hi J.K., thanks for the response! Talmud, \*gag. I would like to give a shout out to all the Messianic Jews out there, thanks for keepin' it real. We didn't forget about you troopers. Riiiight...the Maccabees. I should read that one, i've only dabbled in the Apocrypha. I like a good fight story. Presterism, regardless of the flavor, always gets me turned around. Typically a balked at topic, so thanks for setting me straight. Didn't realize those two events were 200 years apart, but again, I'm not a preterist and haven't put much thought to it. They make an interesting enough argument. I have definitely put more thought into the building of the 3rd temple, though, and what I think the abomination of desolation might be, future tense. Thanks for inviting my thoughts! My understanding is that the Jews have been waiting 2000 years for a 10th red heifer to sacrifice, in order to be able to purify the temple and the priests so that ceremonies can take place. So that would mean that on top of the failed scapegoat, scarlet thread staying scarlet, and doors opening on their own, God stopped giving them suitable unblemished red heifers after 30AD as well. There were 9 red heifer sacrifices that have taken place, the 9th one was between 15-16AD, well before the death and resurrection of Jesus. You can find this out by seeing when the last priest to prepare a red heifer, Israel ben Fabus, was priest (15-16AD). The ashes from that 9th red heifer lasted until 70AD when the 2nd temple was destroyed. They may still have some of those ashes tho, which would negate the need to sacrifice one to rebuild the 3rd temple, so all the hubbub could be one big psyop. But the fact remains that God has not allowed them to find a red heifer in over 2000 years, until recently. They do have suitable red heifers now, 2 left I think, maybe made thru cloning IDK, that they found in TX, and they say they are just waiting for them to be old enough to be sacrificed. That time may have already passed by now. Then theres Maimonides who said (prophesied?) that the 10th red heifer sacrifice would be the final sacrifice that would usher in the(ir) Messianic age. They are not being shy about telling us their plans to rebuild the temple very soon, though. They've got the priests and the garments and almost everything else ready. I think the last thing they need now is the Ark of the Covenant...if they dont already have it. Whether they build the 3rd temple on the mount, or in the mount, or at Shiloh, I believe they've been "sitting on" the Ark of the covenant since the 80s, not telling anyone that they "have" it, and that it was found by a man named Ron Wyatt, in Jerusalem, in the 80s. I have more reason to believe Ron's story than just his kind face and demeanor, BTW. Many poopoo this humble man because he wasnt a professional archeologist and/or bc he was a 7th Day Adventist, but God uses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. I bring him up, because my theory about what I currently think the abomination of desolation will be is actually his "theory", which he realized after he apparently found the Ark, and witnessed the state in which God had intended it to stay in for a very long time. If Ron was speaking the truth about his discovery, then the blood of Jesus ended up on the west side of the Mercy Seat, which is where it was kept bare previously by the high priests, when they would apply the bulls blood on the west side of the Mercy Seat on the day of atonement. He claimed to have located the Ark of the Covenant directly under the actual place where Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, and that it was put there by God hundreds of years before to receive the blood of the Lamb at His sacrifice. After the rocks, ground, and curtain were "rent", the blood of Jesus seeped down thru that crack which went right past the edge of the cross hole in the ground (which he found), and it fell onto the bare east side of the Mercy Seat on the Ark of the Covenant, ratifying the old covenant of animal sacrifice while instituting a new covenant thru the blood of Jesus that is available to all to this very day. He explains all of this better than I can of course, but I'm happy to elaborate on anything that I made confusing. I encourage anyone interested to do a deep dive on the man's legacy, as he found many amazing archeolical sites that verify the Bibles accuracy. I believe he was telling the truth about the things he found, and there is plenty of evidence out there so you can judge for yourselves. Its the most beautiful story I've ever heard, tho. After hearing it, its like "of course thats the way it happened!". The more religious one is tho, or scientifically minded for that matter, the harder time they have fathoming the idea that something like this would be hidden from us by TPTB, and that some schmo adventist isn't who God would choose to find these things. I believe he was geniune, and that the nation of Israel doesn't want us to know who this man was. Ron's theory for how the ark got there in the first place is that during the seige of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar, the prophet Jeremiah had the important articles in the temple removed and transported out of the Temple thru a tunnel system known as Zedekiah's Cave, and that the place the Ark and everything else from the temple was left is Jeremiah's Grotto, where he was living at that time. It stayed there for hundreds of years, waiting for its true purpose. Now that thats laid out, here's what I think the Abomination of Desolation might be. Since Jesus was been gone for 40 years already, I don't think the destruction of the 2nd temple mattered to God very much at all. The 2nd temple hadn't been necessary already for 40 years, we were under a new covenant at that point. The Jews dont recognize the new covenant, so it makes sense that they think they need a 3rd Temple. Simply put, I think that the abomination of desolation will be when the blood of Jesus is be removed from the Mercy Seat, so that the Antichrist can sit on the throne of God. This will cause desolation, bc the "signature" on the contract will be gone and people will have no means of finding salvation ata that point. The abomination of removing the blood of Christ will cause spiritual desolation from God. I believe you need to opt in before that point, if you happen to be dwelling in the end times. I know you know, but for those that don't, the Ark of the covenant was known as the footstool of God, with His actual throne being in heaven. My understanding is that the ark is shaped like a throne, with 2 angels flanking it, and their wings spread across the back like a seat back. The Mercy Seat is the golden lid for the Ark, which is a box that held the tablets of stone, better known as the 10 commandments. This was the centerpiece of the Temple, and it was where God dwelt on Earth. The priest would apply bulls blood to the seat once a year to atone for the sins of the people, but only on the west side. For the Jews, this was Clean Slate Day, also known as Yom Kippur.

I don't know how to edit these... minor correction, Jesus' blood fell onto the east side of the Mercy Seat.
