An aspiring Protestant Pastor turned Catholic Apologist wrote a book. I am considered a cradle Catholic and reverted back to my faith a few years ago. I read "The Lamb's Supper" by Dr. Scott Hahn and it opened my eyes in terms of what we were really partaking in during the Divine Liturgy/Mass. It made me appreciate being a Christian so much more once reading and understanding this beautifully articulated book. I definitely recommend it to anyone confused about what is happening during the Mass and how it is scripturally-based. I would never be able to explain it so well. My mom is Pentecostal/Evangelical and she believes that there is one God, but many paths leading to Him. I am convinced that I will get her to pray the rosary one day :) In the meantime, the core message of Gospel is to love one another is God loves us. The constant fighting between denominations and having to constantly defend what we believe in is counter-productive in achieving the goal of holiness. I was speaking with Priest friend (and spiritual director) of mine earlier today and noted how odd (and tiring) it was that I found myself having to defend my faith to other Christians denominations more than to people of different faiths. We need to be more merciful toward each other as we have all been created in God's image and likeness and without Him, we are empty husks capable of atrocious cruelties. Again, I highly recommend the book mentioned above.
