I have 6. They are all adults and we all have a different version of the event history in our family over the last 40 years.

I had an **unexpected** blessing from God. I thought it was going to be impossible, or extremely hard at the very least. Turns out, raising my son (7 years old) is the easiest and most natural thing I've ever done. He's smart, healthy, athletic, intelligent (both emotionally and when it comes to the books), empathetic, genuine.. I could go on for days and days. I thought because my upbringing was a nightmare most of the time that it would be difficult. Nope. My son is amazing and I don't even know how he got to be that way. Truly a gift from God.

Your son is a wonderful gift, and raising him feels easy and natural despite your tough past.

When they were young I thought it would be so much easier once they were adults. Spoiler alert, sometimes it’s harder. Kid problems are much simpler than big adult problems! 😬

I thought I knew what love was, based on emotions felt towards my family and partner. I thought that was the height of it, until I had my two daughters. I truly discovered what love feels like, and its amazing. Its also fascinating to see them develop, especially when they randomly say unexpected things! I over heard my daughter praying to God for her dad's back pain to go away. It really doesn't get better than that.

I’m a dad of two awesome kids 9 & 15. My boy ( 9) is active and full of information, he loves to spit facts and data at people and question everything, couldn’t be prouder. My daughter (15) is non verbal with an extremely rare genetic micro deletion that we are told is completely random and that’s it. She is missing 21 strands of her first sequence of DNA and this far we have only found one other case that has been documented. Everyday I look at her and know there is a reason she’s been put through this and the blame must land somewhere. It crushes my heart in a way I can’t even explain. The most unexpected thing I’ve found out while parenting is how pure a child can be when they don’t see the world through the eyes of people like me. Sorry for the rant

Before I had my daughter, I swore I'd never change a diaper or clean up poop. Reality: Doesn't bother me at all. Happy to do it~
