I'm at a point where I don't know who to believe: Catholics or the Protestants. The problems with the Vatican are obvious. But what's behind those problems? Satan? Jews? Am I in the wrong denomination? Should I switch? Stay? I'm born catholic. Grew out of it and was an atheist until a year ago. I'm thinking of going to confession today. But I don't know who to trust anymore, except God's mercy and Jesus' eventual return.

Brother, we do have problems in the church, but do not let that worry you so much as it is, remember, Christ said his church will not fail. Christ also has Judas in his midst, did that make all the apostles bad? Of corse not. Just know, that Satan is going to try to destroy that in which is the most good, of course he will try and destroy our faith, in our belief in the church and the church from within itself. I too, like you was born Catholic, left to be an atheist for about 15 years, I really hated religion and especially the church, but eventually I got over my pride and realized I don’t know as much as I think I do and that I should give the church a shot. I would listen to Protestants as well before I came back to the church, but their theology never sat right with me. They didn’t have church history, they didn’t have a full Bible, they didn’t have a structure of authority. There are many things they don’t have that I don’t need to get into, but there are things that we do have, we have the early church fathers we have all these councils throughout 2000 years of history we have a lineage of authority from the passing down of the keys to the kingdom to Peter Through the succession all the way to Pope Francis.
