As you can see they’re not the newest models, I prefer them older not just because I don’t wanna absorb the sticker price (certainly don’t) but over time communities grow and forms on how to fix them, common issues, and other resources populate and then I feel more confident about making a call. I had the Cayenne turbo after that one as well but it was harder to work on, more complicated components and computing. So if I were to do it all again I’d try to find a manual 08-09 gts, I’d loose about 50hp but I never needed that much power in the first place. I feel the hyper regulation of emissions related technology is disrupting advancement in the automotive industry. the gr Corolla is looking promising though, I don’t have a practical application for it but it’s a lot of tech stuffed in an arguably affordable package.

You are correct about getting Audi/VW parts for your car instead of the pricier Porsche or Bentley parts.

And because my Land Cruiser was built in Japan and there were less manufacturers making oem parts they were harder to find and more expensive. that with less powers made building a cayenne turbo a worthwhile experiment to explore.
