Fatal Friendship: U.S. Biological Experiments in Winnipeg In the early Cold War years, Canada and the United States conducted secret joint biological warfare tests in Winnipeg under the code name "Operation LAC" (Large Area Coverage) and related programs.From the mid-1950s to the early 1960s, the U.S. military, with Canadian approval, released aerosolized bacteria (including Serratia marcescens) and chemical simulants over Winnipeg from aircraft. The goal was to study how biological agents would spread over a large North American city in the event of a Soviet attack. The tests were part of a broader series of open-air experiments across the U.S. and Canada. Residents were not informed at the time. Later revelations linked the spraying to increased respiratory illnesses and, in some accounts, a spike in infections in Winnipeg hospitals.

*At the time of the test...it was thought to be non- toxic.* Ah yes....*safe and effective.*...again and again. People just are not voting hard enough.....what other reason could there be for these nefarious patterns to keep emerging? Odd stuff*....safe and effective*.....the riddles continue. Peace.😇
