Would this work inside a tent, with that hole sucking the smoke out, outside the tent?

A teepee tent! I've done this inside a large teepee tent, a hole in the middle with a "trench" dug out to the outside. Covered the trench top, created a tunnel and it worked great! Your teepee needs the top opened up for ventilation, and I kept the door slightly opened too. Just be careful of the type of wood you burn. No pine or Punky wood. (Sparks and smoke)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irori That is one of my virtual house project I have in mind. Outside the city limit, the land price is cheap per sq. mi. One can build multiple houses specially designed for each season, for not much money if built all together at the same time, with very high QA; high QA is very important, otherwise, the termites/molds can ruin the brand new house real easy. I believe if commissioning a house, the owner should be there to monitor, every day, at least half an hour or so. I believe in as little gimmicks as possible, as little mechanical/moving parts as possible. (even though I am contemplating retractable A-frame style roof over mid-century modern style flat roof, using some kind of counter weight combined with 'reliable' and 'durable' source of power such as solar/wind generator-based pump, synchronized with hydro dam type water storage, and releasing the water for the operation of the roof?) I am thinking of using this dude's idea of gears; https://soj.ooo/p/freethinkers/post/16504cdb92805cc861f64cd6b1db5bd3 For humid, hot summer, like NE, but can be windy often enough, with thunder storms, it would be very wide/deep overhang (mostly flat roof), but with a slight incline toward the middle of the house, for Roman style indoor rainwater pool. Gigantic ceiling fan providing extra ventilation. Floor would be marvel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impluvium The wall will be retractable bug screen doors/curtains, surrounded by movable security bar fences, electronic alarm/sound system, simulating gun fires, loud dog bark noise. For winter, cold, windy, dry, snowy, like NE, it would be thick thermal insulating wall. The floor will be bamboo, as whitened as possible. For spring and fall, it will be all glass, heavily insulated, except the trombe wall, it will be openable in the windy direction, hermetically sealed in non-windy direction, and trombe wall in the sunny direction. Trombe wall will be blast resistant. Again, there will be movable security bar fences with the alarm. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trombe_wall I think your dakota pit, combined with Japanese inori/kamado combination would be what I have in mind, for primary cooking/heating/dehumidifier/humidifier, supplemented by radiant warming; I had thought about hydronic cooling as well, but it would interfere with natural cooling from convection, and it would create extra humidity when unwanted, plus more expense in building and maintaining: Now worth it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamado

Great ideas! I love that Japanese concept of a square charcoal pit in the center. Simplicity at its best imo. You have some very well thought plans and purposes for your builds I like that. I enjoy videos where a man goes out in the woods and builds something he can live in, gives me hope in humanity 🙏 just has to be bear proof 😉🐾

You cannot outrun a bear, especially a hungry one. Bears rely on smell more than anything; they love salmon.

''I wasn't able to see the first clip but these shows aren't that good,...'' Why do you think so? ''I don't know why it was highly rated...'' How would you not know why it was highly rated, if you hadn't seen them?

I don't want to explain why it would not show:) I remember when the show was coming out and trailers looked interesting and reviews were good but when I tried to watch the acting wasn't agreeing with me. I usually don't watch anything below 7/10 on Imdb

The plot wasn't an issue, not at first, but as the series progressed, the plot had become too DEI/Woke, totally unreal. There were a few exceptions, one written by a Korean American writer, such as, ''Would you kill a bunch of children, without any hesitation, physically, if not emotionally, if they tried to kill you?
