sounds about right. Yeah I already have a couple of those proximity solar sensor thingies, thats a good idea to use them for protecting the coop thanks for bringing that up.

I them on the coop pointed out then around the coop at the distance the life threw furthest out, that way you sort of see the path they take getting in and out so if it came to it I could have lit whatever it was up from my porch. Which made sense to me at the time although it never came to it.

how do you keep the chickens from setting it off i wonder? or is that just part of it. I am thinking maybe only have them on when it's nighttime and just check on them during the day.

The ones I got, I believe they were from Costco, had motion and photo sensors. So they would only work when it was dark. Chickens go into some from of vegetive state once it’s dark out so they stop moving about around dusk which is when you feed and corral them. Once they’re in they down for the night. Also (I think) why we use infrared heat lamps in the winter it seems not to mess with their sleep as much
