I wasn't thinking about Popeyes at all when "food" comes to mind. That is chicken soaked in seed oils, their buns probably are also. You guys don't have cornbread mix in the grocery stores up there? Jiffy mix? I would recommend a can of sweet creamed corn and sour cream to give it an extra kick.

Individually, I have a pretty good filter when it comes to purchasing food, but sometimes I go along with others when it comes to food decisions. Fried chicken has universal appeal, but it needs to be made at home and fried in beef tallow or something natural at least. There are probably cornbread mixes, I just don’t look at that section enough to remember. Commercial baking mixes also carry ingredients that are hard to accept. I just wish that Popeyes had opted for cornbread rather than that strange to me French style brioche bun, at least I would have gotten a little closer to the cornbread experience. Now my head and my taste buds will have to wrap themselves around the flavor that comes from sweet creamed corn and sour cream and the elusive cornbread. Maybe facebook marketplace will have that on the menu.

Cornbread "casserole". We have it every Christmas at the very least. If you make cornbread, butter and honey go a long way.
