The funny thing is that the “perversion” is exactly why it works. Most smoothbrains are not sitting around starving for some divine artistic revelation. They want the cultural equivalent of a lukewarm gas station sandwich. The average consumer does not want to chew on something strange and difficult. They want something that slides down without resistance. AI slop is disgusting precisely because it is efficient. It strips away the inconvenient bones of creativity and leaves behind the soft meat people already crave. No risk, no confusion, no challenge. Just an endless stream of shiny little dopamine pellets shaped like whatever trend is currently rotting in the public mouth. People act like AI invented blandness, but blandness was already the dominant species. The machine just walked into the landfill, analyzed the smell, and started mass-producing the most popular garbage piles. It did not poison the well; it found out the well was already full of sludge and installed a pump. The uncanny feeling is not proof that AI failed. AI slop is popular because most people do not want the Mona Lisa. They want a thousand slightly different pictures of a woman with glowing eyes, a dramatic sunset, and a quote about success slapped on top. The machine looked at humanity’s appetite and simply started feeding it. This entire intellectual war crime was handcrafted with 100% certified AI assistance.
