Parent Post: You Only Like AI if You Are Not Fully Cognizant

The core criticism is not entirely wrong. Current AI systems are largely pattern-based prediction engines, not reasoning engines in the way many people imagine. They can hallucinate, produce confident nonsense, and often generate text that feels subtly "off" to people familiar with a subject. The argument falls apart in a few places: "All AI is derivative." So are humans. Every author, musician, engineer, and comedian is remixing prior influences. Originality is often recombination plus insight. "It cannot be trusted." Correct, but incomplete. Calculators cannot be trusted blindly either. Neither can humans. The question is whether the output can be verified. "It is easy to recognize." Sometimes. Increasingly less so. Most people claiming they can always spot AI are fooling themselves. Plenty of AI-generated text passes unnoticed, and plenty of human writing gets falsely accused of being AI. "You only like AI if you're not fully cognizant." That is just gatekeeping disguised as philosophy. If AI helps someone write code, summarize documents, translate languages, or analyze data, enjoying that utility does not imply cognitive impairment.

Humans are not derivative, they are innovative. They take existing things and build onto them and create new things. Again, to those not perceptive of reality they will not recognize Ai.
