That is horrible!!! I bet it’s like that a lot of places because of [data centers](https://apnews.com/article/data-centers-artificial-intelligence-technology-amazon-google-56b84cbb94942039754282afb076a87b). And why? Because people want them? I wonder what happened to the people in that sprawling ranch he showed in the video. How much did they get to be pushed out? I would give anything to live in that guest house! lol I can’t believe it’s coming to this. 😒

 My limited understanding of the situation is that the local city commissions have conspired with these companies (Meta and whoever else) to purchase unassuming farm properties which are currently zoned as agricultural. Then, after the property is bought by a straw purchaser,the city commission conveniently changes the zoning to industrial so it can be built upon and suddenly the land is worth a gorillion dollars.
